AccuRoute 2.2 for the Legal Market Will be Demonstrated at LegalTech Conference, Booth No. 329/331 NEW YORK, Jan 29, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Omtool,(TM) Ltd. (Nasdaq: OMTL), a leading provider of document
handling products and services, today announced expansion of its
AccuRoute product line furthering its commitment to legal document
solutions for law firms, corporate counsel and government legal
agencies. With over 170 law firms on its customer roster, Omtool
continues to add new features and support for external information
systems to deliver the document handling solution that works with
virtually every network-enabled scan device and destination required
for legal document management.
Litigation support systems are a critical component of legal
document workflows and are a high-value destination for legal
documents, whether those documents originated in paper or electronic
format. While Omtool has provided support and integration with CT
Summation Litigation Support System, the company now also provides the
ability to distribute documents directly into Dataflight Concordance
and Ringtail litigation support systems.
Another critical destination for legal documents is records and
document management systems. Omtool announced today integration with
MDY in addition to its already extensive list of records and document
management systems including Accutrac, EMC Documentum, Hummingbird,
Interwoven, World Software Worlddox, among others. The enterprise
nature of AccuRoute allows end users to send multiple documents to any
of these destinations simultaneously all in one easy and intuitive
step.
As AccuRoute has become more pervasive in the legal market, Omtool
services firms of all sizes with a myriad of corporate configurations
as well as firms that are geographically dispersed. In response to the
diversity of those firms, AccuRoute 2.2 now enables remote access by
end users to centrally located AccuRoute enterprise servers from
smaller or satellite offices through a secure Internet connection.
Distributed document capture places the ability to handle
documents in the hands of the end users when and where they need it
the most. The availability of "smart" multi-function printers (those
that include embedded software) extend the reach of AccuRoute from
beyond the desktop to the interfaces of these smart devices available
from providers such as HP, Lexmark and Ricoh and that have been
announced by Xerox. Now users can manage their document capture,
conversion and distribution of documents from their desktops, the MFPs
or even from their handheld devices as announced in a separate release
today.
"AccuRoute has become a critical document infrastructure for our
firm," said Sean Fain, network administrator, Sprouse Shrader Smith
P.C. "The more Omtool expands its reach with new functionality and
enterprise scalability and extensibility, the more we rely on
AccuRoute for our legal document communication needs. With AccuRoute,
our firm has been able to get new users up and running with less than
15 minutes of training and it required no changes to our network
infrastructure."
With over 170 law firms as AccuRoute customers, Omtool has a
strong focus on the legal vertical market and legal agencies such as
state and local district attorney offices including the Massachusetts
District Attorneys Association. Omtool's marquis customers include
