Enhancements in AccuRoute Deliver Document Routing Capabilities
from Within Matter-Centric Environments
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 2007--Omtool,(TM) Ltd.
(NASDAQ: OMTL), a leading provider of document handling products and
services, today released an optional package for its AccuRoute(R)
product line that gives legal customers the tightest integration
possible with document management systems. Available first for
Interwoven WorkSite(R), users now have direct and immediate access to
AccuRoute's document routing capabilities from within their
matter-centric environments.
As an Interwoven Development Partner, Omtool delivers specific
functionality in AccuRoute to make it easy to scan fully profiled
hardcopy documents directly into the Worksite repository. A clear
advantage of AccuRoute's tight integration with WorkSite is the
presentation of Interwoven's native user interfaces so that the user
has the same experience for importing a paper document as it would an
electronic document, making users more proficient and productive
within minutes.
For over 10 years Interwoven and Omtool have delivered tightly
integrated solutions to the market and share a large number of
customers, especially in the legal sector, including Bromberg &
Sunstein which leverages AccuRoute for comprehensive document capture,
conversion, and simultaneous delivery to Interwoven WorkSite and
various other destinations.
"Bromberg & Sunstein licensed AccuRoute Law Office in mid-2006 to
use with our networked MFPs as our document scanning and capture
solution for paper that we needed to get into Interwoven Worksite,"
said Monroe Horn, CTO, Bromberg & Sunstein, LLP. "Our goal was to
handle our paper documents as we do our electronic files and allow
them to be stored, accessed and routed electronically. Now all paper
coming in or going out of the firm is scanned and stored in WorkSite.
Content that had been locked up in paper documents is now
text-searchable, profiled by matter and easily accessible at all
times."
Announced today and demonstrated at LegalTech in New York City
(booth # 329/331), AccuRoute Option Pack for Legal includes Interwoven
DMS extensions allowing users to easily define document routing and
handling rules from within the matter-centric environment and profile
and route documents simultaneously from their desktop. This option
pack also provides the ability to create multiple routing sheets in
advance so they are always accessible for users and then assigned at
the time of document distribution. Many users have relied on
AccuRoute's routing sheets that include the machine-readable routing
rules ("embedded directives") due to their familiarity with fax cover
sheets. Now, with the Option Pack for Legal, routing rules may be used
on any printable media to best fit the document workflow and work
habits of a company.
"Together, Omtool and Interwoven create seamless matter-centric
document management environments that uniquely handle both paper and
electronic documents," said Neil Araujo, vice president Professional
Services Industry Solutions Marketing, Interwoven, Inc. "With the
tight coupling of our products, companies and law firms of all sizes
have leveraged our solution to increase employee productivity and
reduce costs associated with the handling of information. These
advances in the AccuRoute product line further enhance the user
experience and improve employee effectiveness when it comes to
handling and routing documents - both paper and electronic."
