Baker & Daniels LLP, Bromberg & Sunstein LLP, Leydig, Voit &
Mayer, Ltd. and Nixon Peabody LLP are to be recognized during the 2008 ILTA conference
ANDOVER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 26, 2008--Omtool, Ltd.
(OTCBB:OMTL), a leading provider of document capture and handling
solutions, today announced the winners of their 2008 Drive for
Innovation Award for the legal market. This premier award will be
presented to Omtool's legal customers who leverage their AccuRoute(R)
document capture and handling solution to achieve successful results
in the areas of content accessibility, technology integration,
streamlined workflows, corporate governance, and cost savings, among
others. Winners of this year's Drive for Innovation Award for the
legal market include Baker & Daniels LLP, Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd.,
and Nixon Peabody LLP. The grand prize goes to Bromberg & Sunstein LLP
for their clear vision of implementing a comprehensive
paper-to-digital document routing solution.
Bromberg & Sunstein LLP built corporate governance policies and
procedures around AccuRoute, encouraging firm-wide usage while
demonstrating ample return on their investment. Their adoption of
AccuRoute helped to automate document workflows that included:
-- Digitizing every piece of client-related paper entering and
leaving their firm including incoming mail and faxes
-- Establishing an electronic file through Interwoven's WorkSite
repository
-- Creating searchable PDFs of all necessary files
-- Supporting e-filing requirements
-- Managing intellectual-property specific communications through
docketing processes
"In addition to increasing productivity across a variety of
operations, we have the insurance provided by electronic versions of
paper documents in the event of a disaster," said Monroe Horn, CTO,
Bromberg & Sunstein LLP. "Our paper is now fireproof, waterproof, and
replicated. Both firm management and the IT staff sleep better knowing
this."
"It was gratifying to see the innovations in document capture and
handling that these firms are initiating using Omtool's AccuRoute
solution," said Don Holland, partner, HSV Consulting Group. "These
firms have seen the advantages of using their technology
infrastructure to streamline their document lifecycle and making their
employees' jobs easier and more productive. I was very pleased to see
that more than one firm considered the "green" implications of
document capture through AccuRoute."
The adoption of AccuRoute has traditionally been considered a
great enhancer of productivity while eliminating costs associated with
moving documents such as printing, copying, courier costs, overnight
mail charges, etc. Now, consistent with the move many large companies
are making, the green considerations of reducing paper are becoming a
priority. One firm noted, "From a Green Computing standpoint, rather
than making multiple copies of a hard copy document, users can now
either review the electronic version from their PC or print the
specific page they need to review. This saves the firm money from a
paper perspective and is in compliance with the firm's Green
Initiative."
Deployed in more than 250 law firms, including about half of the
top 100 US firms, Omtool is proud to distinguish these customers who
best use AccuRoute's document capture and handling features in the
legal profession. All of the firms who entered this awards program
will be recognized today at an awards breakfast during the annual ILTA
conference. The top winners will be awarded their own "2008 Drive for
Innovation Award" trophy and associated public promotions. The first
place award recipient, Bromberg & Sunstein LLP, will also receive
$25,000 in cooperative marketing from Omtool. Receiving honorable
mentions are Burnham Brown, Heller Ehrman LLP, Husch Blackwell Sanders
LLP, Lawrence Graham LLP, Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC, Stikeman
Elliott LLP, and WolfBlock LLP.
The winners were chosen through a blind review process by a panel
of industry experts that included Neil Araujo, vice president of
professional services industry solutions marketing with Interwoven,
Bernard Chester, principal with IMERGE Consulting, Dave Cunningham,
managing director with Baker Robbins & Company Technology Consultants,
Randy Dazo, director of document solutions with InfoTrends, Jason
Doris, WW partner development manager with Hewlett-Packard, Don
Holland, partner with HSV Consulting Group, and Robert Zacharski,
president of Data Minds.
