Add an Exchange connector for Exchange 5.5

Using the following procedure, you will add an Exchange connector for your Exchange Server 5.5. When you complete this procedure, the connector will be enabled, but it might require additional configuration for your messaging environment.

To add an Exchange connector for Exchange 5.5:

  1. Start the Administrator.

  2. Right-click Connectors in the console tree, select New, and then select Exchange. The License screen appears.

  3. Type the appropriate license key in the License text box and click Next. The Display Name screen appears.

  4. Type a friendly name for this connector in the Name text box and click Next. The Exchange Server screen appears.

  5. Type the machine name or the IP address of the Exchange Server in the Specify Exchange Server text box and click Next. The Exchange Version screen appears.

  6. Select Exchange 5.5 and click Next. The Exchange Site screen appears and the Choose Exchange Site text box will be populated with the appropriate organization and site for your Exchange Server if the new connector wizard can detect this information.

Note: If the new connector wizard cannot verify the Exchange Server version you have, an Error dialog box might appear. Click Yes only if the version you selected is correct and you want to continue creating the connector.

  1. Type a new Exchange site in the Choose Exchange Site text box, only if necessary, and click Next. The Address Scope screen appears.

  2. Select Organization if you want all users in the Exchange organization to be able to send messages through the Omtool server, select Site if you want only users in the Exchange site you specified to be able to send messages through the Omtool server, or select Server if you want only the Exchange Server you specified to be able to send messages through the Omtool server, and click Next. The Lookup Authentication screen appears.

  3. Select User if you want lookups to be associated with a particular user account, or select Anonymous if you want lookups to be anonymous. If you select User, type the username and password of the user account in the appropriate text boxes. Click Next. The Congratulations screen appears.

  4. Click Finish. The connector should appear in the Connectors details pane.
