About Embedded Directive Prompts

The Omtool Server Administrator can create prompts for AccuRoute Desktop users. The user while creating an Embedded Directive in the AccuRoute Desktop client can specify the prompts to use when sending to an Embedded Directive. Later, when the user opens the ED to send or sends a document using the SentTo view, the prompt-dialog data triggers the AccuRoute Desktop to open show the prompts. The user has to provide specific values as asked and then press Ok to open the next prompt dialog if any. The delivery of the document he is routing is held up until appropriate values are supplied as prompt data.

Prompt-dialog data contain information about the type of UI to show in the prompt and what destination property to map the final value to (DMS property for instance).

Note: Embedded Directive prompts were introduced in AccuRoute Desktop v2.2.2.

Prompting for data is useful. You can, for example, configure to prompts for Document Name when profiling into a document management system from AccuRoute Desktop.
