Release notes

New Features

Licensing for Devices - Devices are managed in the Server Administrator Licensing Options. Each device used with the server requires a license. Licenses can be generated for a quantity of devices for convenience.

Installation from MMC Administrator - Install the device buttons from the Omtool MMC Console.

Scan to MyFiles button - Authenticated users can send scanned files directly to their Web client from this button.

Nested button support - A top-level Nested button can easily be created, with a custom set of standard buttons added beneath it.

Capture User Credentials - Enable this option on Device Group Button Properties. When enabled, documents are delivered to folder destinations with the logged in user's credentials.

Formatting Rules - Server Administrator Formatting Rules can be applied to prompts when used at the device.

LDAP Attribute mapping - LDAP Attributes and mappings are supported. These allow for the device client to retrieve any LDAP attribute known about a user from the LDAP catalog and map it to an AccuRoute property. User authentication is required for this feature.

Enhancements

Fax Confirmations - Users can have fax confirmations sent back to the device or their e-mail, depending on the authentication configuration.

Fax support for Group Policy - Users' fax capability is now controlled in the Groups permissions.

Prompts - Prompts enable users to add or edit property values associated with a scanned document.

MyAccuRoute button renamed - The MyAccuRoute button is now called 'Scan to Me'.

Resolved issues

There are no resolved issues at this time.

Limitations

AR-3619The Xerox EIP v1.1 device client is not supported on the same system on which the Xerox EIP v2.0 device client is installed. Make sure to follow the installation instructions for both versions to properly coexist in an environment.

AR-4074 – E-mail authentication does not support regular expression filtering.

Launch the Omtool Server Administrator, select the Devices node and right-click on the group. Select Properties. Select the Authentication tab, and verify that Type is set to Email and that the Fields options for Domain, User, and Password Details do not have Enable input validation selected with a value in the Regular Express field.

AR-4119 - Property Transformations are not working for this release.

AR-4261 - On Xerox 550/560 devices, a word wrap issue causes characters to be cut off from the display on the Scan to Distribution and Scan to Destination buttons.

AR-4263 - On Xerox 7242 devices, a word wrap issue causes characters to be cut off from the display on the Personal Distributions, Public Distributions, Scan to Distribution and Scan to Destination buttons.

AR-4311 -  At the Fax button on 8700S and Workcentre 6400 devices, if the user enters out of the Fax Number field without entering a number, the following message appears: Fax number is empty. At this point, the soft keyboard does not launch. Use the hard keys to enter a fax number. You can also select Cancel and select the Fax button to start over using the soft keyboard.

AR-4312 - On the WorkCentre 5632 device, if the user tries to send a non-authenticated fax, the Fax Confirmation page does not correctly appear. The page is present, but selection choices (such as Print on Page) are missing and cannot be made. Therefore, the WorkCentre 5632 device only supports limited use (no faxing) at this time. Also see AR-4349 and AR-4353 below.

AR-4317 - The Xerox FX device color mode must be set to Auto.

For devices 7335-5300-7435-550/560 to retain the color setting, the device settings for color must be set to AUTO, either manually or within the Omtool Administrator. If set to COLOR, the scanner will scan in BW.

AR-4346 - The Use Specific Ordering Priority setting on the General tab of the Button Properties page is not functional at this time. However, you can use the Move or up and down arrows to configure button position.

AR-4349 - On the WorkCentre 5632 device, lists for the Personal Distributions and Public Distributions buttons do not appear. Therefore, the WorkCentre 5632 device only supports limited use (neither Personal nor Public Distributions) at this time. Also see AR-4312 above and AR-4353 below.

AR-4351 - On the WorkCentre Pro 245 device, the last line of the Duplex/Orientation/Resolution/Compression drop-down menu does not appear. As a workaround, you can set default scanning options in the Server Administrator's server settings.

AR-4353 - On the WorkCentre 5632 device, the Fax Number field appears blank and clicking Next prompts the message 'Fax field is empty.' Therefore, the WorkCentre 5632 device only supports limited use (no faxing) at this time. Also see AR-4312 and AR-4349 above.

AR-4358 - On the WorkCentre Pro 245 and WorkCentre 5632 devices, the password appears in plain text. No suggested workaround exists at this time.
