Omtool’s AccuRoute embedded integration with
Xerox’s Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) enables users
to access AccuRoute’s advanced document capture and handling features directly through the touch-screen
display on the control panel of Xerox EIP-enabled MFPs.
With traditional MFPs, users tell AccuRoute which routing instructions to perform by including a Routing
Sheet on top of the document to be scanned. AccuRoute finds the Routing Sheet in the scanned image and
performs the routing instructions associated with the Embedded Directive (routing rule) on that Routing Sheet.
With Xerox’s EIP technology, AccuRoute routing instructions are now available to the walk-up user, presented
as options on the control panel of EIP-enabled MFPs. Users can select from their personal distribution list
or a public (commonly-used) distribution list that is shared and available to any user at that particular
device. A user also has the ability to use a Routing Sheet (if desired) or use the MyAccuRoute button - a
custom default routing rule set up by the individual user. This AccuRoute integration with Xerox EIP-enable
devices also provides users with simple Scan-to-Self or Scan-to-Desktop and Scan-to-Fax capabilities as
additional routing options available through the EIP touch-screen.
AccuRoute for EIP also integrates with and enhances the functionality of user authentication options
available at the MFP, from standard network login to active directories, to Xerox’s Secure Access
authentication products. This enables secure login at the device, using proximity cards, smart cards,
and/or biometric readers. Once the user has been identified and authenticated at the EIP device, AccuRoute
can present routing options that are personalized to that individual user as well as to track all routing
actions performed by that user at the device in order to maintain a secure and comprehensive audit trail.
