Cost recovery is an important technology for law firms, professional services organizations, etc.
to enable client billing for specific tasks. Now, document scanning and document handling are included.
AccuRoute provides an integrated solution tying together the cost recovery and tracking capabilities of
popular cost recovery systems (such as Billback,
Copitrak,
Equitrac,
and nQueue) with the document
capture, compression, conversion, and distribution features of Omtool’s AccuRoute® solution. This
integration allows walk-up users to access advanced scanning capabilities within the scan-enabled
MFP providing efficient matter-centric cost recovery processes.
Using cost recovery terminals for AccuRoute scanning, users can login via a specific identification
process set up by IT administrators to aid with authentication requirements.
Users can select a billing code for tracking purposes when scanning in documents through the cost
recovery terminal. They can then select any combination of the below destinations in numerous file
formats. If the user does not have a separate cost recovery terminal installed at the MFP or if the
terminal is not implemented for scanning purposes, AccuRoute can collect client billing information
which is then validated. All the traditional AccuRoute functionalities can be accessed directly from
the front panel of most cost recovery terminals including:
- Scan to E-mail
- Scan to Fax
- Scan to Hand-held Device
- Scan to Network Folder
- Scan to MyAccuRoute
- Scan to Personal Distribution Workflows
- Scan to Public Distribution Workflows
- Scan to Document or Records Management Systems
- Scan to Case Management/Litigation Support/Contract Management/ECM System
Once the user has selected any of these scanning options, the user scans the document
through the MFP and is able to preview the scanned document on the screen prior to
processing and delivery (preview capability not available on all cost recovery terminals).
In addition, users have access to AccuRoute's advanced document processing and distribution
capabilities from the cost recovery terminal, “smart” MFPs, or the AccuRoute Desktop,
whichever is most convenient for the user.
