The release has the following enhancements:
Standardized names of AccuRoute features: The names of the AccuRoute features have been standardized to offset the length restriction of the labels in different Xerox EIP devices. As a result, the names are not getting clipped on the device. The standardized names are: Public Distributions, Personal Distributions, Scan to Fax, Routing Sheet and MyAccuRoute.
One button versus individualized buttons - The default Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) Device Client v1.1 shows all of the five AccuRoute feature buttons. You can also customize your settings to have one top level button symbolising AccuRoute. When the device user clicks on the top level button, the individual AccuRoute features are displayed. For more information, see Configuring one top level button.
Use of Addressbook service for LDAP lookups- The Addressbook service is used to process LDAP authentication queries.
User PIN identification - Device users can use an assigned PIN ID instead of their email to identify themselves at the device. The ID must be a configurable field in the Active Directory (for example, employee ID). When multiple users are configured to use the same PIN, the device will display a drop down list of all users with the PIN. Once the user identifies himself in the list, he will be able to log into the device and proceed with the scan job. For more information, see Configuring User PIN.
Multiple LDAP lookup - Multiple LDAPs can be configured to search for login credentials provided at the device. For more information, see Configuring multiple search nodes.
Multiple Domain lookup -Multiple LDAPs can be configured to search for login credentials provided at the device. For more information, see Configuring multiple domain.
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) use - Implemented SNMP for real-time monitoring of status of scan jobs. Omtool now uses its own SNMP MIB monitoring code to find the status of a job by querying the Device MIB (management Information Base) tables. Additionally, it uses its own SNMP library.
Set color scan settings - Device users have the ability to set color scan settings like color, grayscale or black and white.
FTP, HTTP, HTTPS and SMB protocol support - Any of the following protocols can be used to transfer scan jobs from the device to the AccuRoute server.
Prompts - Prompts are useful in gathering data to profile documents when routing them to a DMS or other destinations. You can configure prompts either in the Omtool server or in the configuration file. For more information, see Configure prompts.
Deprecated Xerox Filescan connector - Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) Device Client v1.1 has eliminated the use of xerox file scan connector.
Dynamically detect the length of the device panel: - Half panel devices have smaller screens compared to devices with fill panel. With this enhancement, the length of the device panel is dynamically detected. Devices with full panels have greater number of options in the drop downs compared to devices with half panels.
Ability to detect whether the device has a color display panel: - Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) Device Client v1.1 has the ability to detect color display panels in devices. All devices with color display panel show a blue header and footer as well as color icons under Settings.
Auto-logout option on Scan completed page - Users sometimes forget to logout after scanning a document. The Auto-Logout option will ensure that the user will be logged out automatically after the time specified in the configuration file. For more information on how to configure the auto logout time, see Configuring Auto-logout option.
Enhancement to Scan Completed page The Scan Complete page has the Home, Scan Again and Logout buttons.
Use of native device keyboard instead of the hard coded keyboard - Hard coded keyboard is now used only used on WCP 245 devices and normal device keyboard on all other devices.
The release contains the following resolved issues.
Document name change - Name of a document for delivery has been standardized to the format: AccuRouteYYYYMMDDHHMMSS.pdf.
Fixed memory leaks in existing library - Eliminate more than one concurrent webservice call to the device to fix the memory leaks in the existing library.
Resolve issue where the network scanning template is not getting deleted from device.
Provide fall back alternatives for SNMP failures.
17699 - FX devices that support color should be set to 'AUTO' (default) in order to retain color output.
17693 - FX devices fail to scan when configured with SMB. HTTP and FTP should be used for these devices.
